Full day tour to Akrotiri and Ancient Thira (max. 8hrs)

The tour starts with first stop at the archaeological site of Akrotiri. Unique of its kind with vivid frescoes and architecture which witnesses a rare glimpse of the urban life in the Minoan period, Akrotiri demonstrates the high level of culture of ancient Santorini. You will tour the Akrotiri site along ancient Akrotiri’s main street, lined with stores and warehouses of the ancient commercial city. You will see the impressive ancient buildings including the three-storey houses which are extensively decorated with frescoes still very well preserved from the ash. Your guide will lead you all the way through explaining to you the fascinating history of the place. Concluding your visit there; get on board of bus and continue your tour to ancient Thera; the city with its now days fascinating ruins, was built at a picturesque settlement at the top of a high rocky mountain called ‘’Mesa Vouno’’. Upon arrival at Kamari and on the slopes of the mountain you will meet your special transportation (mini bus) where you will embark and be driven on the top of the ancient city. The excavations uncover the ruins of ancient buildings, sanctuaries and temples, inscriptions and carved stones of Archaic Period and also the ancient theatre situated in an excellent location with panoramic view to the Aegean Sea. Marvel the excellent view by capturing it with your photo camera and then head to Kamari and embark on your bus for your return back to hotel filled with impressions.
