The tour begins with a drive along the coastal road of the Saronic Gulf to the Corinth Canal, where you will have a short stop, to take pictures of the great Canal which connects the Aegean and Ionian seas. Then continue on to Mycenae, which is the most important archaeological site, once described “City rich in gold” where the Golden Mask of Agamemnon was unearthed, along with many other treasures that exactly matched descriptions in the Iliad. Enter the city by the magnificent Lion Gate and stroll up to Agamemnon`s Royal Palace. After lunch (optional) at a traditional tavern you continue for a visit to Nafplion, which was once the capital of Greece. In the afternoon enjoy a drive to the most famous theatre of ancient Greece at Epidaurus, renowned for its amazing acoustics. Epidaurus was the world´s greatest medical and healing center of ancient years. The temples of Apollo and Asklepios are there. Arrival back in Athens early in the evening.
